about
Meet Svetlana Isakova

Svetlana Isakova
Svetlana Isakova, a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner and acupuncturist based in London.I have more than 20 years of hands-on bodywork experience in the UK, giving me extensive practical experience of working with muscular tension, pain and patterns of restriction within the body.I trained in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine at the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) in London.Following my TCM training, I continued my professional development with postgraduate training in Tung acupuncture, giving me an additional system of acupuncture points and treatment strategies that I can incorporate when appropriate. My approach brings together Traditional Chinese Medicine with many years of practical experience working directly with the human body.
TREATMENTS
Traditional Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine looks at the person as a whole rather than focusing only on an isolated symptom.Your treatment is based on an individual TCM assessment and may include:Acupuncture • Cupping • Gua Sha • Infrared Heat Therapy

I practise Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncture and may also incorporate techniques from my postgraduate training in Tung acupuncture where appropriate.Infrared heat therapy may be used alongside acupuncture as a complementary part of the treatment.Where appropriate, I may also recommend simple home-care practices between appointments.
LEARN MORE ABOUT ACUPUNCTURETherapeutic BodyworkFor chronic pain, muscular tension and musculoskeletal problems, I also offer specialised hands-on treatments.Myofascial ReleaseMyofascial Release works with the muscles, fascia and areas of persistent tension or restriction. The treatment aims to reduce muscular and fascial tension, improve mobility and support more comfortable movement.Trigger Point TherapyTrigger Point Therapy focuses on specific areas of muscular tension that may contribute to local or referred pain.Targeted hands-on techniques are used to identify and work with these areas of tension. When appropriate, and with your agreement and consent, dry needling may also be used to work directly with persistent muscular trigger points.LEARN MORE ABOUT THERAPEUTIC BODYWORKAn Individual Approach to Your HealthYour symptoms are personal to you, and your treatment should be too.Two people may arrive with a similar complaint but require completely different approaches. My aim is therefore not simply to ask:“Where does it hurt?”I also want to understand what may be contributing to the problem, how it is affecting the rest of your body and what treatment approach may be most appropriate for you.Depending on your needs, we may work through Traditional Chinese Medicine, therapeutic bodywork, or an individually selected combination of approaches.
